All the information in your credit report is provided to us by TransUnion, our partner consumer reporting agency in Canada.
If you believe there is incorrect information in your credit report, you can let TransUnion know about this. First, contact the provider directly and request them to send the updated information to TransUnion. This is usually the best (and quickest) way to get your information updated.
Once the provider has sent the changes request, it can take up to 60 days for TransUnion to update records.
The changes will then reflect within 1 to 2 months in your credit report.
If this time has passed or you'd still like to contact TransUnion, you can:
- Follow the instructions on the TransUnion website on how to raise a dispute
- Call them toll-free on 1-800-663-9980
When raising a dispute with TransUnion, please make sure that you provide:
- The email used to register your ClearScore account
- Full name
- Social Insurance Number (optional)
- Date of birth
- Current address
- Previous address (if at current address less than 2 years)
- Reason for your dispute
- Name of the disputed item (from your credit report)
TransUnion can take up to 30 days to come to a resolution, though the process is usually much faster than that.
