We can't always guarantee that things won't look strange. We get this information from the dark web, which is run by and for criminals. Here are some reasons why:
- It may have been changed into a code to prevent people from viewing it. This is called encryption or hashing.
- A fraudster has created a false password to get a higher price when selling your information, or they might have made a mistake and mixed your information with someone else’s.
- Law enforcement has identified personal/financial information being made available for fraud. They have changed the information to prevent any future criminal activity.
Even if you don’t recognise this information, it's important you update your passwords on all the services you use.
